The History of Bark

Bark was born out of Brandon Galvan’s deep love for animals, especially dogs, and his admiration for bold, colorful design.

Inspired by Piet Mondrian’s “New York City, 1942”, Brandon envisioned a playful and unique character: a dog with vibrant, primary-colored spots. What began as a simple idea soon evolved into Bark, a character full of charm and personality who would go on to captivate hearts through art, wearables, and storytelling.

Over the years, Bark has grown and transformed. Initially focused on products and wearables, the brand has shifted its focus to illustration, cartoons, and comics, allowing Bark’s playful and silly nature to truly shine. Along the way, Bark has made many friends and even teased a new character—a mysterious black cat named Cyn, promising an exciting addition to the brand’s universe.

One of Bark’s signature traditions is
Barktober, an annual celebration featuring special edition shirts released every year until 2023. This event became a hallmark of the brand’s creativity and connection with fans. Beyond Barktober, Bark’s history is filled with collaborations with local markets, artists, and nonprofits, each one strengthening the bond between the brand and its community.

People adore Bark for his bold and dynamic character, his vibrant uniqueness, and his undeniable cuteness. Whether through art, humor, or his evolving story, Bark has become more than just a character—he’s a symbol of joy, creativity, and connection.
